Russia Visa for Turkish Citizens

The visa exemption previously in place between Türkiye and Russia was suspended in 2016. Therefore, Turkish citizens holding an ordinary (burgundy) passport are required to obtain a visa before traveling to Russia.

The latest regulations are confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye and the official diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation.

Visa-Exempt Passport Holders

Following the regulations introduced on 25 July 2019, holders of the following Turkish passports may travel to Russia without a visa:

  • Green (Special) Passport
  • Grey (Service) Passport
  • Black (Diplomatic) Passport

Visa-free travel is permitted for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

Important Note:

Official passport holders may stay in Russia for a maximum of 30 days per entry.

A visa is required for any stay exceeding 30 consecutive days.
